Recap

Made a lot of progress this week in my understanding of the research space of SSF. After reading the long academic papers from several different consensus mechanisms, I’ve thought of a good topic: an evaluation of the entire SSF landscape and creating an eip4844.com-like website for the topic. I’m waiting to hear back from my mentors, Luca and Francesco, about if they think this could be a valuable contribution to the space. I like this as a potential project proposal for a few reasons:

  1. It solves a problem currently facing the space (lack of centralized information about the state of SSF)
  2. It promotes its implementation and catalyzes interest
  3. It’s broad enough to have lots of opportunities to go down rabbitholes
  4. This research will help me understand SSF and consensus mechansims at an extremely high level, and there’s the chance that this newfound knowledge will allow me to come up with a new way to innovate on open research questions

Once I get their input, I hope to write the project proposal and have it submitted by EOW. Exciting!
